•PERSONALITY » Straightforward and blunt, Videl comes off as a no-nonsense girl with little tolerance for tomfoolery and none at all when it comes to crime. Despite being so easy to anger and law abiding, Videl is, after all, a teenage girl, and does enjoy fun with friends, as well as her own faovirite activity: martial arts. With her father being a famous martial artist, Videl has been raised on the principles of self-defense and justice ~~through violence~~. She's a pretty tough cookie, and will not stand to see innocents hurt when she can do something about it. While she has an incredible devotion to justice, Videl is also very stubborn and will jump into action without planning if she feels she needs to. She has a small, small inferiority complex, and is insanely competitive and defiant because of that.

•APPEARANCE » Having recently cut her black hair to ensure easier maneuvering when fighting, Videl holds a tomboyish air in her stride. She's petite and has a rather girlish figure for her manners, standing at about 5'2", Her blue eyes are probably inherited from her mother, and prefers sensible clothing over high fashion.

•FAKE MEMORIES » Videl is still the daughter of a so-called martial arts champion, and as such, takes the art seriously. She was raised in Alioquin by her father and a handful of personal trainers, and decided to take on crime fighting at an early age, being taught by her teachers and father (ironic as that is) about fairness and justice for every person. She worked for several organizations as she grew up, in efforts to get her nae on the police force roster, and made it in as one of the youngest junior officers at the age of fifteen.

After growing tired of the commute between work, school, and home, Videl moved out to Etalon, living in a one-bedroom apartment paid for by her father. Since then, she's established herself as a crime-fighter and psuedo-detective for the police force, working closely under them in hopes of being promoted to officer once she reaches qualifications.

CANON STATS
•POWERS/ABILITIES » Videl is almost naturally gifted in Martial Arts; in canon, she uses her fighting ability to battle crime within her city, as well as compete in martial arts tournaments. Videl also has a bit of control over Ki, which is controlled energy that she can draw out from her body. Because of this, she can fly, but she cannot yet control any other kinds of ki attacks such as Ki Blasts, or the (now common) Kamehameha.

•HISTORY » Videl is first introduced in Dragon Ball Z as Mr. Satan's daughter, a teenage crime-fighter who makes it her top priority to uncover the true identity of The Great Saiyaman, who is secretly Son Gohan (the boy who her father stole credit from when it came to defeating a previous Threat to the Earth). Videl has no known mother in canon, but, unlike her father, has obviously taken her martial arts training seriously. Before her high school years little is known about Videl or how she comes to join the police force. She seems to be a well-chknolwdged authority figure throughout the city, as she is allowed to skip out of classes when the police force needs her--which is often.

As the show progresses, Videl befriends Gohan and is taken under his wing to further her training. He teaches her how to control her ki, making Videl the first female human in the series that can fly without machinery or use of the kint'oun cloud. She also makes acquaintance with Gohan's mother and younger brother, but has only recently met his father and other friends. Videl is taken directly after her defeat at the hands of the genetically enhanced Spopovitch in a rigged match, after being healed by way of Senzu bean.
